There are several types of ad units for sites.
The ad unit and changes made to it are activated within 40 minutes of creation or editing.
Banner
In the VK Ad Network, you can select banners of various sizes to fit your specific platform.
Desktop
The most popular desktop banner sizes are 240х400, 728x90, and 970х250.
Desktop sizes available:
- Vertical Rectangle: 240x400. Located on the right or left sidebar.
- Full-size Banner: 728х90. Located in the header or as a floating banner. Also available for the mobile version of the site.
- Medium Rectangle: 300х250. Located on the sidebar or as a floating banner. Also available for the mobile version of the site.
- Square Banner: 300х300. Usually located as a floating banner or on the sidebar if a larger 300х600 banner does not fit in. Also available for the mobile version of the site.
- Large Rectangle: 336x280. Usually located on the sidebar or as a floating banner. Also available for the mobile version of the site.
- Large Vertical Rectangle: 300x600. Usually located on the right or left sidebar.
- Large Full-size Banner: 970х250. Best located in the header.
A request must include the size of the container for the ad. The size must be aligned with the size of the ad unit selected in the VK Ad Network account.
Mobile devices
The most popular banners for mobile devices (smartphones and tablets) are sizes 320х50 and 300х250.
Sizes available for mobile devices:
- Mobile Banner: 320х50. Usually located at the top or bottom of the screen.
- Square Banner: 300х300. Usually located on the first screen, at the end of an article, or as a floating banner. Also available for the desktop version of the site.
- Large Mobile Banner: 320x100. A format twice as large as the standard ad unit. Usually located at the top or bottom of a page.
- Medium Rectangle: 300х250. The most popular mobile format. Usually located on the first screen, at the end of an article, or as a floating banner. Also available for the desktop version of the site.
- Large Rectangle: 336х280. A floating banner or a banner located at the end of an article. Also available for the desktop version of the site.
- Full-size Banner: 728х90. Format designed for tablets. Usually located at the top or bottom of the screen. Also available for the desktop version of the site.

Adaptive placement
An ad format to display multiple banners in an ad unit. Available for both desktop and mobile versions of the site.
The unit is automatically resized to fit the width and height of the container. Ad design is created automatically, with an option to configure the appearance of the ad unit and ad themselves to make them an ideal match for your platform. Located in the middle or at the end of an article or to the side of the content.

For choosing an ad unit size, please note that creative size for this format is 300x250. Depending on container size on the site page, we will automatically calculate the optimal number of banners, and, if they are available for the user, we will give required number. If it was not possible to calculate the container size, the number of banners specified in the block settings will be returned.
If a request does not include an adaptive layout and size, our response will be based on the ad unit size.
InPage
Format to display videos or banners as part of a page’s content (outstream video). Available for both desktop and mobile versions of the site.
The unit is automatically resized to fit the width and height of the container. Ad design is created automatically.
A request must include the size of the container for the ad. The size must be aligned with the size of the ad unit selected in the VK Ad Network partner account.
Also for inPage blocks on websites there is an option to select flyroll mode. When flyroll mode is enabled, the player is fixed in a specified part of the screen and is on top of the main content of the page.
This format brings the most profit to publishers. Due to the large number of impressions and excellent visibility, it has the highest clickability rate.
Advertisers using flyroll improve video inspection metrics, which increases the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
Full-screen ad unit (Fullscreen)
A full-size mobile banner displayed to users when clicking from one page to another.
It is a mobile format with the highest eCPM value. It consists of banners and videos.
Sticky
Banner type for mobile devices, size 320x50. It is permanently located at the bottom of a page as a floating banner and remains there as users scroll through the page.
Column
Column is an ad format that allows you to show several creatives within one ad block.
Custom styles and sizes are available (the default block size is 160x600).
It is recommended to place on the sidebars of web pages.
Native in page
Native ad block with the ability to customize styles and block sizes. It is usually placed in the site content, available for desktop.
AMP
Special ad formats for sites using Accelerated Mobile Pages technology
- AMP MEDIUM – 300x250 mobile format.
- AMP STANDARD – 320х50 mobile format.
- AMP LEADERBOARD – 728х90 for tablets.
Recommendation widget
Recommendation widget is a text-graphic block in which creatives are arranged among other content useful to the user. This arrangement allows you to attract the user's attention and present your ad in the form of a recommendation. It works especially effectively for cases when the landing page in the campaign is an article posted on the website.
The recommendation system inside the media looks like a block “Read also” or “You will also be interested”.
