Safe areas

In order for the creative to look good in each ad location, it is important to prepare it with safe areas in mind.

A safe area is an area of an ad video or image that is not overlapped by interface elements, such as the “Advertisement” label. The boundaries of this area will be different for each placement.

Images

Social media posts

In advertising posts from VKontakte communities and carousels, a part of the image can be occupied by a product icon:

  • 10% from the top edge 
  • 10% from the right edge

Carousel cards have a card counter in the upper right corner:

  • 10% from the top edge
  • 15% from the right edge

Native banners

Place everything important closer to the center of the image. Up to 10% of the top border will be occupied by interface elements: for example, the label “Advertising”.

Premium placement and HTML5 banners

In the “HTML5 banner” media format, there is an “Advertisement” label in the upper left corner, and edchoice in the upper right corner when you hover over it.

To ensure that the information on the banner is not overlapped, observe the indents:

  • upper left corner: 80x30 px
  • upper right corner: 40x40 px

Do not place important story elements at the edges of the video:

  • 15% of the top border
  • 25% of the bottom border

When launching clips, keep in mind that in the clip feed, creatives will also be cropped on the right and left sides. Do not place important elements on the edges of the clip: 10% from the right border and 10% from the left border.

Some categories of advertising must be accompanied by a disclaimer. Such categories include:

  • financial services
  • shared construction and new buildings
  • medicines
  • medical equipment, medical devices (except for certain contraceptive methods)
  • medical services, including treatment methods
  • dietary supplements
  • baby food

A disclaimer is a short text message about possible risks. For example:

  • DIETARY SUPPLEMENT. Is not a medicinal product.
  • There are contraindications. Specialist consultation is required.
  • Project declaration on the site https://наш.дом.рф/ 
  • Study all the terms and conditions of the loan (credit) on the website. Evaluate your financial possibilities and risks.

Disclamer is added automatically after moderation and in some cases is placed on top of the creative.

The warning takes up:

  • 10% of the area of the whole banner, including all elements: image, title, description
  • 15% of the area of the image itself
