Importing external audiences

If another VK Ads user has shared a private key with you, the link to activate an audience will be sent to the email you specified in the audience settings. Only users specified by the owner of the audience can use the link.

If the key is public, any user of VK Ads can use the audience activation link.

To activate an external audience, click the link - the audience will appear in your list in the Audience tab with the type External.

External audiences can be imported from myTarget. Here's how to do that:

1. Obtain an access key generated by a myTarget user in their account. Guide is available in myTarget Help
2. Go to Audience in your VK Ads account and press “...” → Activate external audience segment.
3. Enter the access key in the pop-up window.

The audience will appear on your audience list marked as External.

With MyTracker, you can automatically collect audiences and use them for retargeting. Two integration options are available:

• Ecosystem, in which MyTracker algorithms aggregate user data without linking to device IDs or platforms using ML attribution. 
• Standard, in which VK Ads considers only device ID lists when passing audiences to VK Ads.

To set up receiving data from MyTracker:

1. Connect MyTracker to your site or app and create an audience. See MyTracker Help for instructions.
2. Set up the integration of your MyTracker account with VK Ads according to the instructions. 
3. Open the VK Ads → Audience section. 
4. Click Create and select an audience name. 
5. Click Add Source → Mobile App Events or Website Events depending on where you are using MyTracker. 
6. Save the audience. 
    

VK Ads will then begin to receive impersonal data that you can use in your ad campaigns: select this audience during campaign creation in the Custom Audiences block.
